The Word – Hon. Christian Inkwell

The Lord’s Day –

Supposedly a day of rest, but such was hard to find this day. Belligerents abound, and I have had a word of naval blockades and of tyrants whose self-analysis of themselves astound. If I may so humbly assess that diplomacy is not the strongest in the current administration, I would argue, as we did – maybe through youthful vigor more than seasoned wisdom – that His chosen people must defend themselves from belligerents. A foreign county – or any country for that matter – has the sovereign right from the Almighty to do so. Is this not what we fought to obtain and preserve for our posterity?

Is it any different, my friend, for other nations as it was for us in those days past? Do we not strive to maintain such today. Are such truths and rights of self-determination not for others and ourselves? Yet some seek to rob others of their rights authored and granted by the Creator. James the Pillar indicated:

“What is the source of quarrels and conflicts among you? Is not the source of your pleasures that wage war in your members? You lust, and you do not have, so you commit murder. You are envious and cannot obtain, so you fight and quarrel. You do you no have because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive because you ask with wrong motives so that you may spend it on your pleasures.”  Ja. 4:1-3

My dear friend, what they want is not based on morality or truth. Is it not based on power and the insatiable desire to rob those free and blessed by the Lord Almighty, their freedom and the blessings of liberty? They are envious of the Lord’s blessings and the status of His chosen people. Their lust for power- based on a deep-rooted and long-standing hatred – is not borne out of love for one’s neighbor.

However, despite this country’s past allegiance and the evidence of the aggressiveness, the current administration is immobile, and I fear such will be perceived as consent and an unwillingness to come to the aid of a long-time ally. Indeed, it is scandalous when you can not look to your friends and expect support when the winds of a storm approach. It is a grave day when one turns its back on an ally – especially one who is the God’s chosen – can our great country, supposedly founded on our faith in the Lord Almighty, expect a blessing for such conduct?

Please pass my deepest regards to your family, and I hope they are doing well. My arthritis is working against me, as is my mind – I cannot at times locate my spectacles despite having two pairs.

I remain your affectionate friend,

– Hon. Christian Inkwell
